Sourcing a Wood Supplier

This page may seem like a cop out, but the fact is there are better sources of finding wood suppliers than on our website.

The Best Place To Start is by checking out the following wood fuel supplier link.

Wood Pellets Notes:

Wood Pellets are harder to source locally as they are processed and tend to come from only a few major sources. Wood pellets have had some issues in the past but the quality has improved from UK sources. There has been some reliance on European and Canadian sources for wood pellets, which is a shame but hopefully a short term phenomenon.

Wood Chip Notes:

You may find through hunting on the web or speaking to local carpenters or sawmills that there are local suppliers springing up in all sorts of places.

Wood chips are arguably easier to produce and many people are looking to recycle wood as well, especially from building sites.

By all means check out your local suppliers but as a word of caution - If you are spending £19k+ on a high quality boiler, make sure you investigate your suppliers thoroughly and that they can supply good quality regularly.

Local Is Best...

But sadly not always possible.

The UK is not currently blessed with an abindance of processed wood fuels, but the situation is improving.

Always keep in mind, wood is carbon neutral, but the more it travels, the less this is the case...
