The lower end of this spectrum are useful for specific loads, but unless your windspeed is very strong and consistent it is unlikely to provide all of a households needs. The 2.5kw wind turbine is available from £9,000 installed.
The most common size of wind turbine, capable of producing enough electricity for a household is the 5kw wind turbine which is available from £15,000 installed +VAT
The 5kw Wind Turbine is suitable for commercial applications including industrial sites.
10kw - 20kw Wind Turbines
These wind turbines are suitable for commercial applications, capable of supplying electricity for several houses or offices and industrial sites.
They will usually require a 3 phase electricity supply and must be installed to comply with higher electrical regulations for connection to the grid.
10kw Wind turbines are available from £25,000 plus VAT installed. 20kw wind turbines are available from £40,000 installed +VAT.

In the range the economies of scale are very noticeable both in terms of power potential and in terms of the financial subsidies from the government for your electrical generation.
