How Long Do Wind Turbine Projects Last
Most Wind Turbine project timelines are driven by the planning system which can take anything from 8weeks upwards depending on the authority.
If we take our the planning authority we can break down the process depending on the size of the project.
Wind Turbines Under 10kw
Feasibility: 1day
Liaison with authorities: 1to 5 days
Ordering equipment: 3-12wks
Foundation: 2wks
Installation: 2 days
Wind Turbines over 10kw
Due to the size of investment and power generated there are more considerations and steps in the process
3 Phase power is required and therefore more lisiason required with the Grid operator and can incur costs of site visits.
Monitoring could be considered which can take a minimum of 6mths or a recommended 1 yr.
Wind Farms
You should expect to be working on a wind farm project for at least 2-3 years as this process is very detailed and the planning considerations are much tighter.
