Choosing your Solar Panels

The majority of solar PV installations are retro-fitted to the roof as panels using one of the three main panel types

Monocrystalline Solar Panels

Also known as ‘Mono’ panels these solar panels are made from thin slices of silicon cut from a single crystal.

Polycrystalline Solar Panels

Made from thin slices of silicon cut from a block of crystals, the ‘Poly’ solar panels have lower production costs which make them a more affordable option.

Hybrid Solar Panels

The Hybrid panel is made by combining crystalline cells with a layer of thin film to give the best overall performance, however they are generally more expensive than the monocrystalline and polycrystalline options. We use only MCS accredited panels from the leading solar panel manufacturers including Sharp and Sanyo.

Freesource is Sharp Solar PV Partner and an accredited solar panel installer for Sanyo.
